Every Rangers fan knows that the start to our 2024/25 domestic Scottish Premiership campaign, and our desired European Champions League adventure this year, has been far from perfect by any standard that you want to lay down and judge our Ibrox endeavours by – well, Hampden Park as it currently is.
50 year old Belgian gaffer Philippe Clement does have leeway in the tank given how far he improved us last season, but that supply is not endless and with the way he has been backed by the board to totally reshape the first team squad to a far younger (and hopefully more profitable one in the future), there are few excuses there, short of the simple time it takes a new player to bed in to their new surroundings, tactics and team mates.
That means many will be expecting swift improvement in both our performance levels, and results, as this month progresses and we head closer to the turn of the New Year and the second half of the campaign. For those who like a small flutter on their football, and bank on that improvement happening, you can read more here when it comes to odds and how to place a bet on the various offerings you can find.

Whilst there are some grumbles in the fanbase as you would expect, ew would be saying that it is yet time to more closely look at Clement and his future with us, and whilst he still has his supporters amongst the faithful, it is certainly incredibly premature to even contemplate a return of former manager Steven Gerrard.
But many feel that the former England and Liverpool midfielder has hinted at just that last weekend, as although he is still gainfully employed by Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq recently took to social media site Instagram to share an image of a poster containing fan chants, and he added the comment ‘I need this picture’.
Naturally, many have read into that and believe it means he wants a return to the passionate and raucous Ibrox atmosphere. Others simply felt he was making an appeal for the poster it self for reasons of nostalgia.
Whatever may have been the true motivation behind his mention and his real meaning, it has obviously set some tongues wagging, as even though right at this moment of time is not the correct point to address the Clement question, if levels do not change, the question will not go away and those with fond memories of Gerrard and his unbeaten title winning season will be hoping lightning could potentially strike twice if he was to return.
Given our most recent defeat, pressure in the fan and media cauldron is currently incredible high for our current gaffer, and we are seeing inevitable claims that the former professional defender is already ‘fighting for his job’ at this early stage of the current campaign, and whilst the majority probably do not yet feel this is the time to turn on Clement, it cannot be denied that pockets of fans have grown impatient, and some are already demanding a change for the very reasons that are obvious to everyone.
If we do make a change, whether or not Gerrard would now be the right appointment after his prior decision to make the switch for his ill fated spell with Aston Villa, would in many ways be a completely different debate.
But after his social media antics, the possibility at least, is now back as a talking point.
