da poker: Some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans were left with mixed feelings over Diogo Jota’s performance against Aston Villa on Sunday.
da leao: Jota began the clash with Dean Smith’s Birmingham-based outfit on the left-hand side of Nuno Espirito Santo’s three-man attack, in what was the 22-year-old’s eighth start in the Premier League this season.
He failed to have a direct impact on the scoresheet, though, as he went a fourth top-flight game without a goal to show for his efforts and is yet to assist a successful strike this term across all competitions.
The £31.5million-rated forward had chances to double his tally of goals for the season against Villa, but could not find the back of the net with any of his three shots on target, per WhoScored data.
No player for either side attempted as many shots as Jota managed, with Raul Jimenez also striking five efforts, more than double that of the clutch of players to have attempted the third-most shots with two.

Jota also failed to register his first assist of the campaign having managed to play no key balls from his 20 accurate passes, as he penned the second-worst pass accuracy rating of any outfield Wolves player at 74% before being taken off in the 83rd-minute.
No player for either side was dispossessed as much as Jota, as well, with the former Atletico Madrid man losing possession six times.
Referee Anthony Taylor cautioned Jota in the 74th-minute for dissent, too, when the forward talked himself into a caution after he let his frustrations get the better of him after disagreeing with several calls.
