da betcris: Swansea City announced on their official club website on Thursday that Everton target Gylfi Sigurdsson wouldn’t be going on their pre-season tour of America as he didn’t feel that he was in the ‘right frame of mind’ because of the uncertainty over his future.
da dobrowin: Toffees manager Ronald Koeman has been heavily linked with the 27-year-old all summer with the latest reports suggesting that the Merseyside outfit have had a £40m bid for the Iceland international rejected.
The fact that Sigurdsson has remained in Wales certainly suggests that a move away is close though, and his arrival would certainly be another statement of intent after he scored nine goals and provided a further 13 assists in 38 Premier League appearances for the Swans last term as they narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship.
Everton supporters were quick to have their say on the news via social media, and they are confident that a deal is all but done and that Sigurdsson will be playing for them next season.
