Loads of Newcastle fans have been reacting to the latest developments on Sean Longstaff, after the club confirmed the youngster will miss the rest of the season.
Newcastle’s newest star was replaced during the Magpies’ 2-0 defeat at West Ham, and the club have now confirmed that Longstaff suffered knee ligament damage.
In a statement on their official site, the club said: “Newcastle United can confirm midfielder Sean Longstaff is likely to miss the remainder of the 2018/19 season with a knee ligament injury.”

The 21 year-old has been exceptional since breaking into the side, finding the perfect blend between physicality and technical quality in midfield.
While it is plausible that he could return this campaign, it seems an unnecessary risk given that the Magpies should be clear enough of any serious relegation trouble.
That said, Lee Ryder of The Chronicle has issued a very positive update on Longstaff, claiming he will not require surgery, and thus could return to light training by the end of the month.
