da mrbet: Liverpool’s defence has come under some criticism this season, but Joel Matip will hope to lend a hand in the coming weeks as he edges closer to full fitness.
da gbg bet: The centre-back, who joined the Merseyside outfit from Schalke in the summer, has impressed in his 14 appearances in all competitions this season.
However, injuries have prevented him from having a lengthy spell in the first team, with his latest setback – ankle ligament damage – forcing him to miss the entire schedule across Christmas and New Year.
Now, though, manager Jurgen Klopp is on the verge of welcoming Matip back into full training, but it may be some time before the defender is starting games.

While speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the centre-back gave an update on his fitness.
“[It’s] getting better and in a few days I hope I’ll be back in full training. That’s the plan but you never know how it will go. We are really positive and hope that this chapter is closed.
“I want to be fit and get on my way and be back but I don’t have a target to be in the squad. I want to be fitter and then the other things will come.”
Ragnar Klavan has been playing in Matip’s absence alongside Dejan Lovren, while Lucas Leiva, who is traditionally a midfielder, has also been played at centre half on occasion.
Liverpool are the Premier League’s top scorers with 48 goals, but they have conceded 23 and have kept just six clean sheets.
