[ad_pod ]Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay has reaffirmed the fact that Leeds United’s defence was in disarray at full-time of their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday, after being challenged by a Whites fan on Twitter.
What’s the word, then?
Well, the automatic promotion hopefuls were beaten by their Yorkshire rivals at Elland Road at the weekend, and Hay tagged a story about defensive worries for Marcelo Bielsa using the word “disarray”.
That was because of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla seeing red late on, being replaced between the sticks by centre-back Pontus Jansson, who has also now picked up an injury that it has since been confirmed will keep him on the sidelines for three weeks.
One Leeds fans thought the club correspondent for the Yorkshire Evening Post had gone a little far with his thoughts, but the writer believes he is right.
Is he?
He certainly is.
The fact that the Whites have lost their goalkeeper and arguably their best defender for the clash against Millwall at Elland Road on March 30 is certainly a major blow.
That game is likely to be a battle where you want your best players on the pitch, and it is especially important for Leeds now they have slipped out of the top two following the Saturday reverse.
Bielsa will have to hope that Bailey Peacock-Farrell and either Gaetano Berardi or Kalvin Phillips step up against the Lions to keep the Yorkshire outfit in the hunt for the Premier League.
